Over the past 10 years, Cierra has learned alongside young children, K-12 students, college trainees, and grownups. In 2015, she functioned as a fellow with the White House Effort on Educational Excellence for African Americans. In her present role, Cierra is the Director of Storytelling for Neighborhoods for Just Schools Fund, a donor collaborative that resources education justice arranging across the nation.
Kaler-Jones's writing is featured in online outlets and can also be discovered in peer-reviewed journals like the Intermediate school Journal and books including Strong Black Ladies: Reclaiming Schools in Their Own Image and Black Girl Civics: Expanding and Browsing the Borders of Civic Engagement. In 2015, she developed and executed a residence life program at The George Washington University, called the Speak Your Truth series, which provided numerous students an area to go over social justice issues through regular monthly events grounded in a storytelling for social justice framework.
When Cierra's not carrying out research study, composing, dancing, or leading workshops, she loves to read, deepen her yoga practice, and hang out in nature.
